Suzuki Avenis 125 Gear Oil Capacity and Maintenance Guide

Suzuki Avenis 125 Gear Oil Maintenance Guide

This is the official instruction based in the Suzuki Avenis 125 manual regarding the capacity of gear oil (transmission oil) or automatic oil. This motorbike is a scooter type with a 125 cc engine capacity. As we know, automatic scooter motorbikes are motorbikes with separate engine oil and transmission oil. Engine oil functions to lubricate the combustion engine while transmission oil functions to lubricate the transmission gear. Based on the maintenance chart suzuki avenis 125, gear oil should be change every 4800 Mi or 8000km.

Gear Oil Level Check

Checking the gear oil level ensures that your motorcycle’s transmission operates smoothly. Follow these steps to inspect and maintain the correct gear oil level:

  1. Position the Motorcycle: Place the motorcycle on level ground using the center stand. Hold the motorcycle vertically to get an accurate reading.
  2. Prepare for Inspection: Place an oil pan under the final gear case to catch any oil that might spill during the inspection.
  3. Inspect the Oil Level:
    • Remove the oil level plug (1).
    • Check if the oil level is up to the level hole. If the oil level is low, add more oil until it flows out of the level hole.
  4. Replace the Gasket: After topping up the oil, replace the gasket with a new one. This ensures a proper seal and prevents leaks.
  5. Tighten the Oil Level Plug: Secure the oil level plug and tighten it to the specified torque of 12 N·m (1.2 kgf-m, 9.0 lbf-ft).

Gear Oil Change

If the gear oil is dirty or has been used for an extended period, it’s essential to perform a gear oil change. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Drain the Old Oil:
    • Remove the oil level plug and then remove the drain plug (2) to let the old oil drain completely into the oil pan.
    • Be sure to catch all the used oil to recycle or dispose of it properly.
  2. Refill with Fresh Oil:
    • After draining the old oil, pour fresh gear oil through the oil level hole.
    • Approximately 50 ml (1.7/1.8 US/Imp. oz) of oil is required for the gear oil change.
  3. Reassemble and Tighten:
    • Replace the drain plug and tighten it to the specified torque.
    • Then, reinstall and tighten the oil level plug to 12 N·m (1.2 kgf-m, 9.0 lbf-ft).

Note: Regular gear oil checks and changes are vital to ensure that your motorcycle’s transmission remains in optimal condition. Always use the recommended oil type and replace gaskets when needed to prevent leaks and maintain efficiency.

By following these steps, your Suzuki Avenis 125 will continue to perform reliably, ensuring a smoother and safer ride.
